I have a question about the decreases. Purl 2 together is no problem as you're knitting across the gap caused by the slipped stitch on the previous row. However on the knit row, you're slipping the stitch which was already slipped on the previous row. I kept getting holes along the line of decreases. The stitch which I slipped before then passing it over was loose and flappy and nothing I've found will make it tighter when going back on the purl row. Please can you help me get rid of the holes? Otherwise, I love this heel.

A lot of the patterns for socks/sweaters cuffs are using this stitch. I've done your spiral baby sock pattern. Love of it brought out the stitch pattern.

Excellent and very clear demonstration of this technique! I would agree with @kiddycar16 that I would do just about anything to avoid the kitchener stitch. There are a number of top-down sock patterns that I would like to knit but have hesitated to do so because they end with the kitchener stitch; this technique solves that problem. Thank you so much!

I'm knitting the 4xl size, I have the correct st count 150 sts. So I knit 75 to the centre back and place a marker. This where I get confused, knit 110 sts (185) sts in total. Turn and double st, purl to marker then purl 110 sts, (185) sts. The back is 150 sts. I'm so confused
